Dr. Avinav Batra Brentwood

Dr. Avinav Batra is originally from India and moved to the USA to further his dental skills. After graduating from dental school in India, he attended Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry in Philadelphia. Dr. Batra is passionate about getting to know his patients and their needs while striving for excellence. His focus is on prevention-based dentistry, wherein he likes to educate and target the root cause while taking care of teeth-related issues. He joined Embassy Dental because of shared belief in providing state-of-the-art, relationship-based, comprehensive care that is tailored to fit into the lives and budgets of patients.

Dr. Keith Van Benthuysen Brentwood

Dr. Van Benthuysen received his B.A. with honors from the Citadel and his D.M.D. from the University of Florida. He began his dental career in the U.S. Army before entering into private practice in Florida more than two decades ago. Since joining the Embassy Dental family in 2006, he now lives in Franklin, TN, with his wife Beverly and their young son.

Dr. Jacob Bourget Donelson

Dr. Jacob Bourget was raised in middle Tennessee and attended Pope John Paul II High School. He studied biochemistry and molecular biology at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky. Dr. Bourget was awarded early acceptance to the University of Detroit Mercy where he earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He practiced near Detroit, MI before returning home to practice with Embassy Dental in 2017. He is a member of the American Dental Associate, the Tennessee Dental Association, and the Nashville Dental Society. In his free time he enjoys playing ice hockey, wakeboarding, and spending time with his family.

Dr. Ryan Minyard Murfreesboro

Originally from Fresno, CA, Dr. Minyard is a graduate of the University of the Pacific where he played college soccer and later received his Doctorate in Dentistry. After practicing dentistry on the West Coast Dr. Minyard moved to the Nashville area in 1994 where he now lives with his wife and their three kids. An avid soccer player, Dr. Minyard continues to play in local recreational leagues here in Tennessee.

Dr. Amrita Patel Bellevue

Raised in the Boston area, Dr. Amrita Patel attended the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences before earning her DMD in 2015 at the Boston University School of Dental Medicine. She then went on to pursue a general practice residency at the UCLA School of Dentistry (Special Patient Care and Hospital Dentistry Program) which she recently completed. A new resident of the Nashville area, Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with her family, reading, outdoor activities, music, and dancing.

Dr. Mark “Jay” Ruark II Hillsboro Village

Born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and raised in Cape Girardeau, MO, Dr. Ruark completed his undergrad at Murray State University. He received his DMD at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Ruark moved to New Orleans after graduation where he practiced in both New Orleans and Baton Rouge, until 2012 when he moved to middle Tennessee. Dr. Ruark currently resides in Nashville. When not practicing dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his 4-year-old-son, Payton, and girlfriend, Candice. He also enjoys working out and describes himself as an “avid sports nut.” He loves Peyton Manning and the Broncos, Kentucky college football and basketball, as well as the St. Louis Cardinals.

Dr. Derek Thompson Hendersonville

A native of Mayfield, KY, Dr. Derek Thompson attended Murray State University for his undergraduate studies, and then earned his dental degree from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Dr. Thompson moved to Nashville after completing his studies and has been practicing general dentistry since 2010. Outside of the practice, he enjoys a variety of sports, listening to live music, and anything to do with classic cars.

Dr. Brittany Vincent Brentwood

Dr. Brittany Vincent is a North Carolina native, but she grew up right here in Murfreesboro, Tenn. She attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and went on to receive her dental degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville. After dental school, Dr. Vincent completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program in Providence, R.I. Dr. Vincent is passionate about helping kids and adults feel confident in their smile. Her goal is ensure each patient feels comfortable and optimistic about their oral health.

Oral Surgeons

Dr. Robbie Harris

Dr. Harris is a Texas native and a Board Eligible Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He attended the University of Oklahoma at Norman for his undergraduate studies, where he played football for the Sooners. In 2011, he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston where he was elected into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon national dental honor society. He then entered his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN and completed his training in June 2015, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He has co-authored multiple professional publications and is certified in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, and Advanced Trauma Life Support. He has a servant’s heart and is an avid outdoorsman. In his spare time, he enjoys hunting, fishing, college athletics, golf, and playing the guitar.

Dr. Christian Bennerman, DDS

Dr. Christian Bennerman serves patients at our local offices in order to provide them with a convenient option for oral surgery and general dentistry under one roof. Dr. Bennerman graduated from Meharry Medical College and treats all patients like family. His compassionate personality and gentle approach helps him connect with patients to ease any anxiety.


Dr. David Wyatt

Dr. Wyatt attended dental school on a four year Army Health Professions Scholarship, receiving his dental degree from the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in 1980. Dr. Wyatt served nine years in the United States army where he completed a general practice residency and was twice decorated with the Army Achievement Medal and Army Commendation Medal. He received his orthodontic certificate and Masters Degree from the University of Louisville. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Wyatt is a clinical faculty member at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry Department of Orthodontics.His hobbies include jogging, skiing, basketball and biking.


Dr. Tamara Griffin

Dr. Tamara Griffin joined our family in December 2015 performing endodontic services in the Cool Springs office. Dr. Griffin attended University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine then Baylor College of Dentistry where she received a M.S. in Health Professions education and certification in Endodontics. Dr. Griffin also was the Chair of Endodontics at Meharry Medical College as well as faculty member at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Dentistry in Memphis, TN.
